Rupurt was contracted to provide civil engineering services to support the investigation and feasibility of expanding various existing schools in Arlington County. In addition to available records provided by the APS, Rupurt obtained sewer, water, and storm maps from the County. Rupurt also obtained utility plans from the applicable Dry Utility Companies: Dominion Virginia Power, Washington Gas, Verizon, and Comcast. These existing utility plans were used to determine any potential impacts that may result from the school expansion. Additionally, Rupurt investigated the existing site zoning and determined any zoning implications or restrictions that may impact the building expansions. Finally, based upon the preliminary layout plan, Rupurt conceptually evaluated methods of stormwater and best management practices suited for the site and made a recommendation to the client.
