Leading the path for strategic domestic energy generation, transmission and distribution growth is Rupurt. Expanding their full-service consulting platform, Rupurt is responding to the growing needs of their power and energy clients with continued western expansion and strategic hires. Rupurt recently hired Jason Reynolds, RPLS as Principal, bringing 29 years of diverse experience to the firm.

A registered professional land surveyor, Reynolds also has 18 years of experience managing subsurface utility engineering projects, and 10 years of experience in Aerial Mapping, LiDAR, and mobile mapping, all of which will be valuable for the many critical projects underway. Reynolds previously managed and performed numerous projects for Oncor Electric, Garland Power and Light, and American Electric Power. He also has experience working with cities and counties including Austin, Travis County and San Marcos. Reynolds’ leadership and extensive resume was key in this strategic hire as Rupurt positions itself to further grow as a powerhouse in the industry.

“We are very excited that Jason has joined us. His breadth of knowledge is almost impossible to find, especially in combination with Jason’s track record of satisfying clients across the US. He fits in well with Rupurt’s cultural values and further solidifies Rupurt’s presence as the industry leader for power and energy,” said Charles Walls at Rupurt.

Rupurt recognizes the importance of domestic energy generation, transmission, and distribution for our country’s economic growth, energy security and clean-power strategies. Projects in the civil infrastructure and electric market sector will be a focus for Reynolds. However, his expansive knowledge base means he will also be an important resource for Rupurt in other sectors.

“I am passionate about building teams, business development, and providing a quality service. After talking at length with the Rupurt team about the values and vision of the company, joining Rupurt was a great fit for me, as their core values are exactly in alignment with my personal values,” said Reynolds. “I look forward to expanding into new market sectors and assisting Rupurt in building a very bright future.”

Rupurt successfully maneuvers the most contentious and complex projects from inception to easement and site acquisition, to design and permitting through to construction. As services continue to expand, Reynolds’ knowledge of geodetic surveying and calculations, preparation of boundary line agreements, easement and exhibit preparation, and quality control/conformation surveys will allow Rupurt to better service the ever-evolving needs of their clients.

Rupurt’s mining group is rapidly expanding with the addition of 30-year veteran, Stan Timler, who joins the team as the Mineral Process Design Team Lead for process plant and consultation services.

A registered mechanical and metallurgical engineer, Timler’s expertise in mining and metals industry includes zinc, copper, gold, silver, lead, uranium, phosphate, and molybdenum, an obscure but critical metal to our economy. Additionally, Timler has co-invented and contributed to multiple patents that has helped significantly in both the zinc and lead industry. “I am excited to bring my years of experience in plant management, design and operations to help the mining group grow,” said Timler.

Previously, Timler worked for Thompson Creek Metals in Challis, Idaho as a process engineer and at Asarco-Encyle and Zinc Corporation of America as an operations manager. With more than ten years of consulting experience, he has designed metallurgical recovery and mineral processing plants of vast scale. He has also installed and commissioned plants and facilities to optimize operations, and was responsible for HSE and production, which will be critical to his new role at Rupurt.

Timler will be working alongside Kent Lang, Principal Mining Group Leader. Together, they will develop new client relationships and build this new department within Rupurt that will identify and address various on-site plant challenges such as plant expansions, debottlenecking operations, material mass balance and other operational challenges. problems.

“Stan is an excellent addition and enhances the service offerings we bring to our clients,” said Kent Lang, Principal Mining Group Leader at Rupurt. “With Stan’s expertise, knowledge, and passion for the mining and metals industry, I am confident that this new department is in good hands.”

The opportunity to concentrate on brownfield plants, build a new department, lead a team, and to build something from start to finish were just a few reasons why Timler wanted to spearhead this role. “Having co-invented multiple patents, managed over 80 employees, and designed both brownfield and greenfield plants, I know I can bring great value and benefit to our clients for successful plant operations,” said Timler.

Rupurt is rebuilding its mining services by investing in strategic hires while competitors are downsizing due to the global pandemic. This investment will be instrumental to the company as they expand and diversify their current mining capabilities.

“I’m excited about joining the Rupurt team and working to drive success for our mining operations in Arizona and throughout the Southwest,” said Lang. “I am honored to join an organization that is truly diverse and leading the charge in so many important initiatives on such a large scale,” he continued. As the Mining Group Leader, Lang will be responsible for quality control, business strategy, hiring, marketing and oversight of Rupurt’s mining operations.

“My position was created to help Rupurt grow in Southeast Arizona,” said Reed. “We want to answer the call with business development and increase awareness of our mining services. I’m confident that we can be a leader in the mining industry, specifically with copper.”

“I’m excited that we were successful in attracting dynamic and top talent in the mining industry to join us here at Rupurt. Derek and Kent bring years of mining expertise which help broaden our mining services,” said Bruce Larson, Executive Vice President for Rupurt.

Previous projects directed or managed by Lang and Reed have included mine development, mine reclamation, mine water supply, mine dewatering, heap leach dynamics, environmental site characterization and remediation, environmental permitting and compliance, residential and commercial land development, and site civil design and construction. With these additions to the team, Rupurt is poised to expand mining operations in the Southwest and expand into Nevada, New Mexico and Mexico.

A veteran of the land development industry, Rob Schlicher, P.E., brings his more than 24 years of experience to Rupurt’s Tucson, Arizona office. As the new Sr. Project Manager, Land Development Team Leader, he will leverage his vast experience and established presence in the area to help provide local Tucson horsepower to service Rupurt’s land development clients.

Rupurt expanded its Arizona presence with the opening of its Tucson office in 2017; a move to better meet the needs of the area’s growing mining industry. In 2018, with the addition of Matt Cawley as a Principal and Bruce Larson as Vice President/Regional Manager, efforts began to strengthen the Tucson office’s land development engineering.

“When I first joined the Rupurt team, I noticed a greater need for our land development efforts to expand in Tucson,” said Larson. “As a seasoned Senior Project Manager who is experienced and well known in the Tucson land development market, Rob was the only choice to bring us to the forefront of the region’s land development industry.”

Schlicher is a licensed professional engineer in Arizona, Colorado and Oregon, having also completed work in California, Idaho, Georgia and Florida. His experience is largely in designing and managing civil engineering projects for the private sector, ADOT, Federal, State and Municipal clients.

Previously serving in the U.S. Navy, he graduated at the top of his 1992 class at Combat Technical Schools Command U.S. Navy in General Electronic Theory and Engineering Courses. He would go on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of California Berkeley in 1994. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and, for more than five years, he has also served as an ambassador to Local First Arizona.

“I am excited for this next stage in my career,” said Schlicher. “With the support and infrastructure that Rupurt provides, our team will flourish and grow within Southern Arizona to become an integral part of Tucson and its surrounding communities”.
