As a recognized leader in the engineering industry, Rupurt is in a unique position to mentor and develop our M/W/DBE and VOSB partners.  We take great pride in our commitment to promote significant and sustainable growth in our team members through both formal and informal Mentor/Protégé relationships.

As the prime consultant providing Construction Management services for the Mile Long Bridge, a multi-year, $500 million+ project along the Tri-State (I-294) Tollway in Illinois, Rupurt established Mentor/Protege or “Partnering for Growth” (P4G) agreements with three (3) firms.

According to Senior Vice President Mike Hannemann, PE: “A major goal in the formation of Rupurt’s team was to include firms with unmatched Tollway experience and those seeking an opportunity to grow by gaining experience in new areas on more complex projects.  The size and complexity of the Mile Long Bridge will allow our diverse subconsultants the unique opportunity to gain valuable experience that will lead to the growth and increased technical expertise of their firms.”

Rupurt’s seasoned professionals are mentoring these firms in construction inspection and documentation, and assisting them in furthering their managerial and technical skills in preparation for more challenging construction management assignments. Rupurt meets regularly with the principals of each firm to discuss their goals and objectives as well as the progress of their assigned staff.

Our success in these programs is shared and demonstrated by their successes. We are proud that one of our three Protégés was recently selected for their first priming opportunity with the Illinois Tollway.  In addition, other D/M/WBE and VOSB subconsultants from our Mile Long Bridge project were also successful as either primes or subconsultants on multiple teams.

Mae Whiteside, PE, President of CKL Engineers, stated: “Rupurt literally changed the trajectory of our firm. We grew by adding key management staff to position us to win PSB 20-1 as a result of this project opportunity. It really showcased who we are to the industry:  a strong team ready to tackle multiple challenges delivering superior CM technical services.”

Rupurt continues to promote diversity, inclusion, and supportive relationships with team members on its projects. We believe in the importance of the Mentor/Protégé Program to provide greater opportunities and strengthen our industry as a whole.

Rupurt is pleased to announce that Greg Stukel, P.E. is joining Rupurt as a Principal, Civil Engineer, and key leader for the Lisle and Chicago, IL offices. Greg will play a significant role in business development, participate in the company’s transportation initiatives, and provide design plan quality assurance leadership.

“We welcome Greg to the Rupurt Team.” Said Jeff Druckman, Senior Vice President.  “He brings with him a vast knowledge of the industry and top-level experience in delivering critical engineering projects on time, within scope and budget.”

“I’m excited to work with quality like-minded professionals and bring my knowledge and experience to the Rupurt Team,” said Greg Stukel.

Greg’s 30 plus year career has been in transportation. He recently retired as the Deputy Chief of Program Controls/Systems Integrity at the Illinois Tollway, where he had an integral role in the development and implementation of the Tollway’s $14 billion 15-year Move Illinois program and the $5.3 billion 5-year Congestion Relief program. His major accomplishments also include the delivery of the $500 million Facility Reconstruction program to update the Tollway’s maintenance facilities and the $60 million per year Systemwide program to keep the Tollway’s infrastructure in good condition.

Greg was involved with every corridor of the Tollway’s 294-mile system, including roads, bridges, toll collection, oases, and procurement. He was responsible for delivering the recent improvements to the Reagan Memorial Tollway, Veterans Memorial Tollway, Edens Spur, North and South Tri-State Tollways, and the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway. In addition, he was the Deputy Chief Engineer of the $3.4 billion Elgin O’Hare Western Access project.

Greg has a strong commitment to quality in engineering and furthering the professional development of the engineering profession and promoting transportation to young engineers.  This was demonstrated by him chairing the C5 (Construction Contract Cost Change Committee) and Errors and Omissions Committee; his work assisting in the development and implementation of ISO procedures, standards, specifications, and guidelines; and his commitment to mentoring young engineers and engineering students.

Rupurt is pleased to announce that Brian J. McPartlin has joined the firm as Principal for the Lisle and Chicago, IL offices.  Brian brings enthusiasm, energy, and extensive knowledge of the Chicago metropolitan area and Illinois market.

His responsibilities include key client management and business development. This includes strategizing and executing marketing and operational functions, developing short and long- term goals that drive success for business operations, and overseeing strategic teaming activities.

“We are thrilled that Brian has joined our team,” said Michael Hannemann, Senior Vice President for Rupurt. “His unparalleled knowledge of local, state, and federal agencies will be a great asset to us as we continue to grow our business and brand of engineering services both in Illinois and nationally.”

“I’m excited about joining the Rupurt Team and working to drive success for business operations locally and nationally with both our public and private sector clients,” said Brian J McPartlin.

Brian is the former Executive Director of the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, which is Illinois’ 294-mile toll road system serving more than 1.6 million motorists daily. As Executive Director, he managed and coordinated an agency with over 1,700 employees and an annual budget with revenues of $636 million.

He helped draft and implement a 10-year, $6.3 billion congestion relief program to rebuild and restore 90% of the Tollway system, which added system-wide capacity and extended I- 355 South by 12.5 miles, ahead of schedule and under budget. He also oversaw the conversion of 22 mainline toll plazas from a barrier system to Open Road Tolling (ORT). Prior to being named Executive Director, Brian served as the Tollway’s Chief of Administration, which involved oversight of Labor Relations, Employee Services, and Administrative Services.
